Clinical Manager, Outpatient Services

Exciting new leadership position within Howard Center's Outpatient Team! This position will supervise 6-8 clinicians, provide direct service, and oversee our Treatment Courts and other adult programming within Outpatient Services.


Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and/or group supervision to clinical staff and interns
  • Provide clinical leadership over a sub-set(s) of outpatient programs and ensures adherence to regulations/compliance to funders
  • Participate in program development and ensure that client satisfaction/outcome data are used to inform decisions
  • Deliver direct service weekly
  • Assist Clinical Director in the overall development and direction of integrated outpatient services

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in related field
  • Clinical License or License-eligible in Vermont  
  • One year of supervisory experience
  • Three years of experience with co-occurring disorders and its interface with the criminal justice field
  • Valid driver's license and use of a personal vehicle

Structure:

  • Full-time (37.5 hours/week)
  • Exempt

Developmental Services Intake Specialist

Fulfill Developmental Services intake responsibilities associated with our role as a Designated Agency for Chittenden County.  Responsibilities include educating clients/families about the System of Care, reviewing evaluations, conducting needs assessments, determining eligibility, developing funding proposals, creating individualized support budgets and maintaining State waitlists. 


This is a Monday-Friday position but may include hours outside traditional business hours.


Responsibilities:

  • Face-to-face meeting providers to start application process and provide information about internal/external programs, resources and services
  • Provide support necessary to  navigate the Developmental Disabilities System of Care to clients, family, teams of providers, and community partners
  • Conduct or arrange assessments including cognitive testing, Autism Spectrum Disorder diagnostic evaluations, assessments of adaptive behavior, and Needs Assessments
  • Interpret assessment results to make a determination about eligibility for Developmental Services
  • Accurately assess the service needs of individuals who present multiple and complex support issues
  • Identify alternative funding resources within the local community
  • Develop funding proposals and create individual service budgets
  • Present and defend the proposals to local and state funding committees
  • Works closely with Access and Intake team to ensure that clients gain access to needed supports as quickly as possible.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field with a Qualified Developmental Disabilities Professional (QDDP) certification or eligibility.
  • At least 3-5 years' experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Experience assessing individuals with developmental disabilities and identifying their support needs. 
  • A valid driver's license and use of a  personal vehicle.

  • This is an exempt position

Essential Job Functions:

  · Provide direct supervision to clinicians as well as assist in the ongoing supervision of staff through meetings, in-service training’s, guest speakers and reviewing literature

  · Direct pre-admission decisions, case reviews and counseling meetings to ensure services are provided in accordance with policies, procedures and regulatory requirements

·   Manages all counseling staff. Facilitates performance improvement discussions, documentation and follow up

  · Conducts quality assurance file reviews

  · Ensures accurate and current clinical records are maintained in accordance with Federal and State Regulations governing NTP clinics

  · Other related duties as determined by supervisor


Qualifications | Education | Certifications:

  · LADC Licensed Clinician

  · Previous experience working with chemically dependent individuals a plus. Must demonstrate a positive, non-judgmental, and accepting attitude toward our patient population

  · Must have prior supervisory experience, be self-motivated and directed

Title: Full Time Substance Abuse Counselor
Location: Newport, St. Albans, St. Johnsbury, VT
Schedule: M-F 6a-2p

  

Primary Job Function:

Substance abuse counselor will be in charge with assisting patients through medically assisting programs and offering techniques for handling opioid addiction.  Counselor conducts group sessions and individual sessions to assist with crisis management and coping strategies.  Additionally, counselor will evaluate patients’ progress during therapy.   Substance abuse counselors may also need to collaborate with doctors, nurses and therapists for patients’ therapy and treatment for best overall outcome.


Essential Job Functions:

  · Conducts individual initial assessment and evaluation interviews for service eligibility determination

  · Facilitates, establishes and reviews with each patient the initial treatment plan

  · Respond, as needed, to patient grievances and complaints

  · Involve families and significant others in patient’s recovery process whenever possible

  · Ensures accurate and current clinical records are maintained in accordance with Federal and State Regulations governing NTP clinics

  · Other related duties as determined by supervisor

  · A Masters in Behavioral Sciences or Bachelors with substance abuse courses plus some experience.
