988 is Coming to Vermont

988 is Coming to Vermont

In 2020, Congress designated the new 988 dialing code to be operated through existing National Suicide Prevention Lifeline. This provides a universal entry point so that no matter where you live, you can reach a trained crisis counselor who can help. This is a step towards a transformed crisis care system in America.

What does this mean? On July 16, 2022, Vermont will join the rest of The United States in launching 988, the new three-digit number for the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline. This service will provide compassionate, accessible care and supports for anyone experiencing mental health related distress. Access is available 24 hours, seven days a week.

Decision Aids for Clinical Practice Guidelines Now Available

Decision Aids for Clinical Practice Guidelines Now Available

APA recently published a set of decision aids to accompany each of its existing clinical practice guidelines (PTSD in AdultsObesity and Overweight in Children and Adolescents, and Depression in Children/AdolescentsAdults, and Older Adults). The decision aids are intended to facilitate shared decision-making within evidence-based practice in psychology. It is hoped that the decision aids will serve as a concise and helpful resource for practitioners seeking to integrate APA’s CPGs into their broader evidence-based work.
