November 18: Mental Health & the Deaf, DeafBlind, and Signing Communities Workshop

There is an EXTREME shortage of mental health care providers who are able to work with the deaf, deafblind, and hard of hearing communities, so if you have any interest in working with these individuals, please attend.

November 18: Virtual Townhall

If you’re interested in learning more about Open Enrollment for Vermont Health Connect (maybe to stay informed for your clients), OR you need to enroll or renew your health insurance through Vermont Health Connect, we have a chance for you to ask the experts!

Join us for a virtual townhall on November 18 from 2-3pm to learn about important Open Enrollment announcements. We’ll be joined by VHC staff who will share information about how to choose a plan, options for financial assistance, and how to get help applying or understanding your options if you need it. When enrolled through VHC, many Vermonters will continue to get enhanced financial assistance.

Contact vpaed@vermontpsych.org for the Zoom link.

Quick Update: Potential Merger with VTMHCA

The committee involved in the discussions, composed of 3 VPA members and 3 VTMHCA members, have been meeting regularly to draft proposed bylaws for a new organization.  Thus far, the committee has come to agreement on a number issues, such as dues, membership, meetings, etc., but there are a number of important matters still to be discussed.

If the committee is able to develop an agreed proposed bylaws, all members will have an opportunity to view and provide input into those proposed bylaws prior to finalizing those proposed bylaws, which would then be submitted to the entire membership for vote.  There is still a long way to go in the process, and in the meantime, VPA members will continue to enjoy all the benefits of membership in VPA without change.
